Since its founding in 1966, the Friends have been an indispensable partner of Lucerne Festival. With their annual funds they make a significant contribution to the financial security and sustainability of the festival. The Friends' central concern is not only to promote the festival of today, for example by supporting the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. The Friends also provide a sustainable basis for the artistic work of tomorrow and therefore support important projects such as the Lucerne Festival Academy and "Music for Future".
